QM Workshop 2019 – Review
Digital business processes, the connection of measuring equipment and measuring systems as well as diverse examples of customer-specific QM solutions – these were the topics at the 18th QM Workshop on September 26, 2019 in Walldorf.
Together with SAP SE and our partners of many years, we were able to offer more than 100 prospects and customers an exciting program around the topic of integrated quality management with SAP ERP and S/4HANA.
Already the first lecture of the SCHOTT AG from Mainz offered – exactly true to the motto “of customers, for customers” – a direct insight into the implementation of a particularly complex integration project. All requirements within a proof of concept were summarized early on in a more than 200-page business blueprint and subsequently refined in close cooperation with our developers and then implemented. Among the special challenges was the coordination of several stakeholders, projects and processes.
Immediately after, ETO MAGNETIC GmbH presented a project to digitize their quality data acquisition. The test plans originally available in Excel were first migrated with EiPLAN to the SAP ERP system. Then it was necessary to realize the special customer requirements for testing and evaluation with EiQMI and EiVIS. In addition to a cross operation result recording solution, mobile SPC workstations were also implemented via tablet.
The challenges in more complex system landscapes, such as the administration and central evaluations, informed Dr. Eilebrecht SSE in a lecture on the worldwide use of EiQMI. Solutions for central administration, easier maintenance of the system, integrated software distribution and a change management process for EiQMI were presented.
It became extremely interesting during the presentation by HILTI AG, which dealt with the topics of dynamisation of test procedures and component verification in order to ensure the correctness of assembly orders. The dynamisation project implemented in EiQMI has achieved a considerable saving in quality inspection costs without jeopardizing the high quality standard of the products.
Not only customer projects and the exchange of experiences among the speakers and participants were the focus, but also the highlights from the EiQMI and EiPLAN development of the past year by Dr. Eilebrecht SSE met with great interest. The current focal points of the development of EiQMI, EiSEL and EiPLAN were presented. The focus was on optimizing the user interface, simplifying the administration and the topics of performance and stability. Likewise many functional extensions were implemented, which are available to the customers in the most current version immediately.
The functions and possibilities offered by SAP in the field of test equipment monitoring were illustrated in a joint presentation by KRAIBURG TPE and DHC GmbH. As part of a specific project, the entire test equipment management and monitoring was converted to SAP. The focus of the project was to map all master data and transaction data in SAP. This means that all information on the test equipment is available worldwide within one central system.
Interesting insights were also given by the presentations of SAP SE on the topics of SAP Leonardo IoT and the latest developments in quality management in S/4HANA Cloud and onPremise.
Darüber hinaus waren unsere Partner STEINWALD datentechnik GmbH, ELIAS GmbH und die DHC GmbH mit Infoständen vor Ort vertreten. Dort konnten sich die Teilnehmer ein Bild über Lösungen aus den Bereichen digitale Zeichnungsstempelung, Messmittelanbindung, Beratung und Validierung hinsichtlich SAP machen.
In addition, our partners STEINWALD datentechnik GmbH, ELIAS GmbH and DHC GmbH were present with information booths on site. There, the participants were able to get an idea of solutions from the areas of stamping digital drawings, measuring equipment connection, consulting and validation regarding SAP.
