EiQMI - SAP R/3® QM Interface
Users of the R/3 QM module have a special flexible option through EiQMI to connect R/3 with the measurement systems and analysis devices in production and in the testing laboratory. The EiQMI subsystem fits smoothly into the working processes of the R/3 since the quality planning and test lot generation remain with R/3. EiQMI records the results for the test lots of the measurement systems and analysis devices and reports them back to R/3. The basic data settings made in R/3 for the test lot processing are thereby complied with, for example control mark, test matrix, test point definition or documentation requirement.

SAP has certified EiQMI for all current versions of the QM-IDI interface. The most recent certification was in May 2008. EiQMI therefore provides the comprehensive support in both worlds - for the
R/3 3.0 to 4.5 releases and for the new interface with the Releases 4.6 to SAP ERP 6.0.

With EiQMI you can achieve the best solutions. For example you can choose between different user interfaces: the R/3 front end SAPgui, the EiQMI client or also the existing interface of your measurement system. EiQMI can work with different measurement and test devices, easy measurement equipment as well as co-ordinate measure-ment devices, optical testing devices and chemical analysis systems. Even connection to in-house testing systems which were never designed for this purpose can be achieved thanks to the flexible script language.

EiQMI is adjusted flexibly to the needs of your company. Through the data base interface in EiQMI measurement results can also be stored parallel to the R/3 acknowledge-ment message in a customer specific test database or in the Q-DAS database. You can continue to use your usual programs and standard tools for test data analysis.

EiQMI consists of different parts. The EiQMI Client records data from test equipment, test devices and testing systems and guides the user through the test lot processing in an easy dialogue. The EiQMI Server establishes the link to R/3 - for downloading the test lots and for signalling the results back. Computer-guided automatic test devices having their own user interface can be linked via the EiQMI Autoclient directly to the R/3.
