QM Workshop 2009
EiQMI, SAP MII and EiPLAN in real action
This year's QM Workshop 2009 offered the visitors a program rich of varieties. Our customers provided exciting presentations of the QM solutions we had realised for them, SAP experts granted insights in new and established technologies, and Dr. Eilebrecht SSE informed about efficient solutions for the quality domain. With topics like SAP MII, EiQMI as LIMS and flexible creation of inspection plans and lots by EiPLAN, there was a broad range of impulses both for the discrete and for the process industry.

The QM Workshop was held by Dr. Eilebrecht SSE and SAP AG together in the rooms of the SAP University in St. Leon-Rot near Walldorf. It took place at a special date this time: October 1, 2009 was the 10th anniversary of the go-live of our first EIQMI installation. Since then, a lot has happened with EiQMI and some new programs have been added.

One of them is xEiQMI which uses the SAP MII technology. Andreas Rizzetti from SAP Germany explained SAP MII?s concept that aims at the Perfect Plant by integrating ERP and shop floor. It is e.g. easy to generate dashboards to visualise relevant data. Yet the perfect plant also includes the perfect laboratory. Therefore SAP has started the Perfect Lab initiative and relies here on the partners Trebing+Himstedt and Dr. Eilebrecht SSE. This new initiative was presented by Dr. Tilo Eilebrecht. He showed the chances for efficiency gains by better integration that xEiQMI offers in the MII context. Bojan Avramovic-Schaidreiter from PLANSEE SE finally presented the use of xEiQMI in the real production domain.

LANXESS is using EiQMI together with SAP QM as a LIMS. Sven Gelißen reported how an automatic inspection line was connected with EiQMI. His conclusion: The adoption of EiQMI enabled to perform activities internally that were outsourced previously.

More and more of our customers rely on efficiency gains by automated inspection plan generation with EiPLAN. Torsten Olschewski explained how the aviation supplier PFW Aerospace AG puts customer requirements directly into individual inspection plans with our tool. At WUPPRMANN the inspection planning is performed directly at the specialised software of the measurement device - EiPLAN makes this possible. Klaus Leitgab presented the innovative solution that Dr. Eilebrecht SSE has created for Wuppermann.

SAP is also pushing the further development of the QM module. Beate Lindqvist talked about innovations as the FMEA support, multiple specifications for different countries and the different possibilities for supporting Six Sigma projects.

It was especially pleasing that, despite of the economic crisis and severely restricted travel budgets, 76 visitors have found their way to the workshop. An important contribution was granted by our customers whose excellent presentations helped to make this day a benefit for everybody.
